                     Missions Tijuana
A group of 13 individuals from Wabash and Logansport, Indiana traveled with CeM to Tijuana, Mexico, November 3-9, 2007. While a diverse group from different locations, we quickly bonded as we all had the same common goal of sharing the Word of Jesus Christ with our brothers and sisters in Tijuana.

While there we had the opportunity to share the movie, Facing the Giants, on four separate occasions- once at a church and three different drug rehabilitation facilities. It was interesting for us as a team to watch the movie in Spanish with English subtitles. While soccer is more popular in Mexico than footballl, the movie was an excellent tool to connect with the people. After each showing we had people commit their lives to Jesus. At the last rehabilitation center, we had over 30 people stand up to accept Christ. It was truly an awesome experience for us to see these people make this commitment and pray with them. We truly saw lives changed as people opened their hearts to Jesus.

We also participated in a construction project. Pastors Alex and Maria Elena had asked that we help to build a second floor onto a building at their church. Their plan was to use the building to house individuals who were battling drug addictions. At first look, we felt that there was no way that we would be able to complete the project during our week. However, we moved ahead with the plan of completing as much as we could and hoping that the next team could finish. It was truly amazing what we were able to accomplish. It was definitely only with God's hand that we got so much done in such a short time. We had initially planned to frame the walls and have the next team complete it. However, we were able to frame and install all four walls and replace the roof in addition to installing the door. It was with great pride and awe that we were able to hand the keys over to Pastor Alex. We took much satisfaction in knowing that many would be helped from our efforts. In addition to the construction and movies, some of us also did sewing and crafts with the women and children. It was amazing to see what could be done with the material that we had brought. We also had women who had never sewn before learn how to do so. In addition it was great fun to do the craft items with the kids. They are very creative and have great imaginations. It is always such a blessing to see a smile on their faces!
