Navajoland Mission Encounter 2007 October 20-27, 2007, a team of eight Ohioans went to New Mexico on the Navajoland Mission Encounter. Six of the eight were from Forest Park United Methodist Church in Lima, Ohio and the other two were from the Castine Church of the Brethren, Castine,Ohio. The group stayed at the Gamerco Church of God in Garmeco, which is close to Gallup, New Mexico. They worshiped and served there and at Hooghan Nizhoni Church of God. At these churches the team led evening sessions on Developing Church Leadership, Strengthening the Family, and Women Ministering Women. The sessions were well received. During the day the team did Chores of Compassion such as cleaning the churches, building a handicap ramp for two Navajo sisters, repairing a fence and a picnic table. One day the team also served at Casa San Martin, a homeless shelter run by the Catholic nuns.If you would like to know more about the Navajoland Mission Encounter and how you can be a part of it, contact Sharon Fellers at boshky@embarqmail.com.
